Happening race relations day |

What a fabulous time we had at Te Aro this year. As usual we started Race Relations Day with our special assembly and each class put on a small item to celebrate the cultural diversity evident at our school. At lunchtime each class had an international shared meal in their class with food from all over the world. Thank you to all the parents who made some amazing dishes for us to share! After lunch we all met on the Boyd Wilson Field for a game of Kilikiti (Samoan Cricket). It was really hard to use the bats as they were as long as golf clubs and really fat! The ball was made of rubber and travelled a long distance when you connected properly. Darryl our cool Deaf teacher hit the ball right over the fence! It was great to see the parents playing on the staff team and we think the Year 7/8’s probably won but there was some really dodgy umpiring from Bryce and Ray when the teachers were batting. Please have a look at all our great photos!
