What's on at Te Aro?

RUMA KAURI

A weird thing happened to our rubbish bin in August, it went missing. The strangest thing was that the lid and the bin went their separate ways. So we decided to write some stories about this.

One day our bin lid disappeared. I think the bin has invisible legs. One day the bin was way over at the fence.

On Friday Simi came in and asked Davina where the bin lid was and Davina said “I don’t know”. Simi went away and came back with the bin lid and said “It was in the pool!”.

One day we left our rubbish bin outside. The next day our rubbish bin was at the fence and the lid was in the swimming pool. We thought that the rubbish bin may have had some legs so it walked to the fence and stayed there for the night. I thought that the lid had some wings then flew into the swimming pool.
We need to put a lock on the lid and the rubbish bin or maybe one day after school we could hide and see if the rubbish bin does grow legs and wander off.

At night when everyone was asleep a bin crept around the city. It started to run. A car came and the driver stopped suddenly. While the driver hopped out of the car the bin crept into the driver’s seat.
The bin drove the car away.

One day our rubbish bin disappeared. We found it at the fence. Simi found the lid in the swimming pool. I thought that the bin may have stood up with it’s legs and ran to the fence and when we looked at it, it would stop.
Maybe the bin and the lid have a bad relationship with each other because they don’t like the yucky stuff we put in the bin.
